Arcadia is a space unspoiled and unattainable by humans within the wilderness. According to Websters dictionary it is a scene of simple pleasure and quiet. This is not a place we can visit, nor is it a place that truly exists, but instead is an abstract location.

I have chosen to name this blog "Meet Me In Arcadia" because this sums up a large pillar of traveling. Everyone travels for different reasons, but in the end we all are trying to experience something new. We have expectations of how people will act, what the food will taste like, the type of music we will come across, how the language will roll off of their tongues, and how the culture may affect us. We assume these things based on books, movies, stories, friends who have visited, previous ancestors, videos, or television. But, once we arrive there is one thing almost everyone has in common, something happens, no matter how minor, that you were not expecting to come across. That is what makes traveling amazing. No matter how much you think you know about a place or it's people, there is always something new to learn. It is impossible for this perfect expectation, to be reality, just as it is impossible for Arcadia to exist. We are all searching for it, but due to amazing flaws that we all hope to come across in our adventure, Arcadia is impossible to reach,
